The Tisch WNET Studios at Lincoln Center is the present and future home to some of New York public media’s most exciting programs and initiatives. Located at the southwest corner of 66th and Broadway, this versatile, state-of-the-art facility houses two television studios. The space can also accommodate lectures, screenings and intimate concerts.
The new facility is named in honor of James S. Tisch and his wife, Merryl H. Tisch, whose generous $15 million gift to support the Studios is the single largest gift from individuals in WNET’s nearly 50-year history.
A cornerstone of the recently renovated Alice Tully Hall, the space features 28 feet of floor-to-ceiling windows that embody the “public” in “public media.” Through these windows, New York natives and visitors alike watch tapings of some of their favorite WNET national and local programs, ranging from PBS NewsHour Weekend, NYC-ARTS and Reel 13 to MetroFocus and Great Performances. Meanwhile, producers, anchors and performers have a front row seat to the energy, creativity and diversity of New York City.
The Tisch WNET Studios at Lincoln Center reaffirm WNET’s commitment to enriching, celebrating and inspiring the tri-state community.
