At the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts on Thursday, February 16, there will be a special all-woman show to highlight some of the basic positivity that can be drawn from a day rooted in love through poetry, performance, and real-life commentary. The event titled For the Public: Love Letters will take place at the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center's Bruno Walter Auditorium and is free, but registration is required. Click here to register.
For a combination "dinner and a show" evening, at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, on the fifth floor of the Shops at Columbus Circle, soulful vocalist Brianna Thomas returns for a seductive Valentine's Day performance at 7:00pm on Tuesday, February 14. During the show, each guest can enjoy a three course dinner included with ticket purchase. Plus, each guest will be offered a glass of red or white wine with their first course. Also offered by Jazz at Lincoln Center on February 14, New York City Opera will play a romantic evening of song in the beautiful Appel Room. If you're looking for a romantic dinner for two, look no further than Lincoln Square's spectacular eateries. Rosa Mexicano at 61 Columbus Avenue has a Dia de San Valentin menu for the evening of Tuesday, February 14. Options include filet mignon and chorizo sausage skewers, roasted stuffed poblano chile peppers, grilled salmon and more. And, for dessert, you can share a special flourless Mexican chocolate truffle cake with raspberry-guajillo sauce.
Bar Boulud at 1900 Broadway is offering two chances to enjoy a delicious gourmet french-inspired dinner with your sweetie: a Valentine's Day Pre Theater Prix-Fixe and a Valentine's Day Dinner Prix-Fixe. The former is for anyone with performance or theater tickets for that same evening, with the three course menu offered from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at $65 per person. Afterwards, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm, the Prix-Fixe dinner menu offers three courses for $85 per person. Both menus offer the same delicious options, including main course dishes like duck breast a l'orange or bacon-wrapped venison tenderloin.
Boulud Sud at 20 West 64th Street is also offering a chance to enjoy exquisite cuisine with your sweetheart. Before an evening performance at Lincoln Center or elsewhere in the neighborhood, enjoy a Valentine's Day Pre Theater Prix-Fixe menu from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. The menu offers a three course dinner at $85 per person. If you're interested in later dinner for two, the restaurant also has a Valentine's Day Dinner menu from 7:00pm to 11:00pm offering a four course meal at $125 per person. Choose from main course dishes like "surf and turf" or pancetta-wrapped quail and enjoy Mediterranean flavors.
