Open Storefronts Program Extended

The Open Storefronts program assists existing ground-floor storefront businesses who want to use outdoor areas on a temporary basis. Businesses engaged in retail trade, food service, repair stores, personal care services, and dry-cleaning and laundry services are able to use outdoor space for seating, queuing, or display and sale of goods. Although the program had been slated to expire on December 31, 2021, it was extended and is available through the duration of the state of emergency. Learn more and register here.

The NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection is helping New Yorkers file their taxes for free. If you earned $72,000 or less in 2021, file for free with an IRS certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparer. Learn more here.

Apply Online for a Fair Fares MetroCard

Fair Fares NYC is a City program created to help low-income New Yorkers with their transportation costs. With the Fair Fares NYC discount, participating New York City residents can receive a 50% discount on either subway and eligible bus fares, or Access-A-Ride. Click here to check your eligibility and to apply.
