End your Independence Day with one of New York City’s most iconic traditions—the 50th Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks®. This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as it marks both the 50th anniversary of the fireworks display and America’s 250th anniversary. Beginning at approximately 9:25pm on Saturday, July 4, the show will illuminate the skies above the lower East River, lower Hudson River, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
The event is free to attend. If you were lucky enough to score tickets through the City of New York’s public lottery, you’ll have access to designated viewing areas at Brooklyn Bridge Park or The Seaport. Additional non-ticketed public viewing areas will be available along the FDR Drive in Manhattan. Attendees should expect street closures and traffic restrictions in and around the viewing areas. Parking will be extremely limited, and public transportation is strongly encouraged. The MTA will increase subway service before and after the fireworks, while nearby bus routes will be rerouted with additional service following the event.
