On Wednesday, September 2, gyms and fitness centers across New York City are allowed to reopen to the public. Pools and fitness classes, however, have to remain closed. People must wear masks and capacity will be capped at 33%. Before you reopen a gym or fitness center, you must submit a Gym and Fitness Facility Inspection Request and Attestation Form to the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Local health departments must inspect gyms prior to or within two weeks of reopening, to ensure strict adherence to Department of Health guidance. Find out more information here. If you have any questions, call the NYC Department of Small Business Service's hotline at (888) SBS-4NYC.

Equinox is reopening their two locations in Lincoln Square on September 2: Columbus Circle (10 Columbus Circle) and Sports Club New York (160 Columbus Avenue). Click here to read about what to expect from their transformed facility experience.

Additionally, the YMCA is reopening on Tuesday, September 8. Visit the West Side Y (5 West 63rd Street) to access their exercise amenities. Check out the YMCA’s Reopening Plan here.

Many of the residential buildings in Lincoln Square are home to gyms and fitness centers. Contact your building’s management to learn more about the reopening and safety protocols of their fitness center.
