Library for the Performing Arts Tech Kits & More

COVID-19 has presented extreme challenges for performing artists. With much of the new art landscape taking place digitally and virtually, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (NYLPA) offers a resource to enable performing artists to document their works and publish them online. The Tech Kits for Performing Artists program allows artists over the age of 18 with a New York Public Library card to rent a tech kit containing a number of items that are commonly used to document and post performance work online, including various hardware and software.

The kits include such tech gear as: 12.9” iPad Pro with cellular data, an M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 MK3 MIDI keyboard (available with select kits), GVM LED Ring Light with Phone Tripod Stand Kit, and more! Click here to read up on everything the kits include.

To rent a kit, search the catalog for "Tech Kit," and request the item as you would any other circulating materials from the Library. Click here to read the instructions on requesting and renting tech kits. Kits are available for between one and three months. Anyone interested with questions can contact techkits@nypl.org.

The NYPLA is also open for unlimited browsing of its circulating collections and onsite research services by appointment. Click here for more information. There are also photocopy services on select circulation and research materials which you can read about here
