Light It Blue Campaign for COVID-19

Light It Blue Campaign for COVID-19

#LightItBlue is a program organized to support healthcare workers around the country by lighting buildings/monuments blue in honor of their service. Inspired by the #ClapForOurCarers and #LightItBlue campaigns in the UK, this initiative is meant to be an additional show of support from major building owners and landmarks around major cities. Currently, the program is set to take place on Thursday, April 9 at 8:00pm in New York City and other major US cities impacted heavily by COVID-19. The group behind this program believes this is a big opportunity to say "thank you" to all of the healthcare professionals and first responders who are continuing to work and help people through this difficult health crisis. The lighting of the buildings would be timed with another round of #ClapBecauseWeCare. Click here to read more about the program

This program is now trying to identify buildings and landmarks with existing LED lighting and/or video screens to participate in NYC. The goal is to light up the building/landmark with blue lights and to post the #LightItBlue logo on video screens with the message "Thank you to all those fighting on the front lines against COVID-19". Many event and industry professionals are volunteering to put this together, including people with whom we work, including Nicholas & Lence Communications, Peko Productions, and others.
