New York City Mask Advisory in Place

According to the NYC Department of Health, there are currently no confirmed cases of the Omicron variant in New York City. There is not yet reliable evidence about whether this variant is easier to spread, more likely to lead to severe illness or able to avoid antibodies from vaccines or previous infections. However, there are early signs that it may have the ability to spread rapidly.

Vaccination, masking and testing remain the most important tools in fighting this new variant. Click here to view data on COVID-19 variants in New York City.
