Monday, July 20 marked the beginning of a partial Phase Four of reopening in New York City, which will include the re-opening of higher education institutions and outdoor arts and entertainment. Phase Four industries include:

  • Higher Education
  • Pre-K to Grade 12 Schools
  • Low-Risk Outdoor Arts & Entertainment
  • Media Production
  • Professional Sports Competitions with No Fans

While entering Phase Four will mean that zoos, botanical gardens, and media production may reopen, the Governor has said that Phase 4 will not include indoor activity in malls, restaurants or cultural institutions at this point. Many of Lincoln Square’s arts and cultural organizations, however, have built out an expansive list of online programming. For a list of what’s happening and where to stream virtual events, check out our events calendar.

Phase Four may also affect Lincoln Square’s educational institutions. To see how Fordham, Juilliard, and NYIT are adapting to COVID-19, check out their plans on our website. Currently, NYC public schools are planning to re-open in the fall with a “blended” model of in-person and remote learning.

For detailed guidelines and requirements for re-opening by industry, be sure to check the Governor’s New York Forward website.
