The 2023 LSBID “Where To” Brochure

We recently printed a new and updated guide featuring combined information on shopping and dining locations to enjoy in Lincoln Square. The brochure is available on our three information carts at Calabrese Plaza, Dante Park, and Richard Tucker Park. Traffic Advisories

For about the next ten weeks, 60th Street will be partially closed between Broadway & Columbus Avenue due to a crane operation. Only one lane will be open to vehicular traffic. 

There is roadway paving scheduled in Lincoln Square over the next week, which means there is no parking overnight from about 6:00pm to 6:00am on the following days at the following locations: On Wednesday, May 31, on West 63rd Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue and West 64th Street between Broadway and Central Park West; on Thursday, June 1, on West 62nd Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue and on West 63rd Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue; and on Friday, June 2, on West 61st Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue and on Columbus Avenue between West 62nd Street and 9th Avenue. On Saturday, June 3, New York City’s Inaugural Haitian Heritage Parade will take place at 10:00am. The parade route will be on Central Park West, from 66th to 86th Streets. 66th - 68th Street may be used for staging and production. Click here to find out more about the parade.

DSNY Service Alert

Monday, May 29, is Memorial Day, but The New York City Department of Sanitation WILL provide service. Residents who normally receive Monday trash and composting collection should put their material at the curb Sunday evening for collection starting Monday. Residents who normally receive Monday recycling collection should put their material at the curb Monday evening for collection starting Tuesday. Residents could experience some collection delays, as is common after holidays. For questions about Sanitation services and holiday schedules, contact 311 or click here.

Feedback and Survey on Restaurant Industry Delivery

The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) enforces NYC’s Third-Party Food Delivery Service Laws, which cap the fees that third-party delivery apps, like Grubhub, DoorDash, and Uber, can charge restaurants. The laws require DCWP to issue a report on the fee caps, and DCWP would like to hear from you. Click here to view a flyer on how you can provide feedback on the City’s fee caps, and email RuleComments@dcwp.nyc.gov by Friday, May 26, 2023, with your comments. Water Board Hearings and Rate Proposal

The New York City Water Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 30, in Manhattan at 2:00pm, concerning certain amendments to the Board’s Rate Schedule. For more information, click here

“Pop Up” with the NYC OATH

On Tuesday, June 6, from 10:00am – 4:00pm, New York City Council Member Gale Brewer will host a “Pop Up” with the NYC Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings outside of her District Office at 563 Columbus Ave. You can meet with OATH staff and get answers and more info about summonses and the City’s administrative hearing process. For anyone with a summons from DSNY for violations of the new trash set-out times, you can start to resolve them there.

New York City Council Committee on Technology Hearing

The New York City Council Committee on Technology will hold a hearing on Wednesday, June 7, at 1:00pm in Council Chambers - City Hall, New York, NY, and via Zoom web-conference, on the following topic: “Oversight – LinkNYC: Deployment of 5G Infrastructure and Wi-Fi Connectivity across the City.” The hearing is posted online here. If you wish to testify live in person or via video conferencing, please register in advance of the hearing at https://council.nyc.gov/testify/

DSNY Public Hearing and Comment Period on Proposed Rules

The Department of Sanitation has released a draft rule to require all food service establishments to place food garbage in sturdy sealed containers rather than garbage bags. DSNY will hold a public hearing on the proposed rule, which will take place via Webex at 10:00am on June 22, 2023. Click here for more information.

Older Adult Tech Clinic

On Tuesday, June 20, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm, Council Member Gale Brewer will host an Older Adult Tech Clinic at Lincoln Center’s David Rubenstein Atrium (62nd St. & Broadway).
