Discover Halloween Fun in Lincoln Square
Oct 23, 2024Halloween is only a week away, and there are plenty of Spooktacular events happening in Lincoln Square to help you celebrate.
For The Athlete: Fleet Feet Columbus Circle (10 Columbus Circle) is hosting a series of Halloween-themed community runs. On Wednesday, October 30, Fleet Feet will hold its “Hokaween” Kickoff Run, a casual jaunt through Central Park ending with a post-run party and plenty of treats - costumes encouraged! If you want a healthy start to your Halloween, kick off the morning with Fleet Feet’s Morning Run, sponsored by Altra, where you can enjoy post-run samples, breakfast, giveaways, and more. Not a morning person? No problem! Join Fleet Feet at 6:30pm on Halloween for a Trick-or-Trot through Central Park, and be sure to wear your spookiest Halloween attire. Reps from Saucony will be present along the route, handing out treats. After the run, join your fellow athletes to enjoy snacks, drinks, giveaways, and a costume contest.
For The Creative: Stop by Color Me Mine (177 Amsterdam Avenue between 68th and 69th Street) for some wickedly fun painting events! Conjure up your own creative design on October 31 at the paint-your-own pottery store’s Afternoon Spooktacular Halloween Paint Party from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. The cost is $5 per painter, plus the price of pottery. If you are 21+, join Color Me Mine for its Halloween Art Night from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, where you can paint, sip, and socialize while creating a boo-tiful pottery Halloween-themed pottery piece. The cost for this event is $25, plus the cost of pottery. Make sure to show up in your best Halloween apparel- the festivities include a costume contest, and the winner will take home a $100 Color Me Mine gift card!
Celebrate Halloween with the Museum of Arts and Design (2 Columbus Circle) at the MAD Halloween Party from 4:00pm - 7:00pm on October 31. There will be dancing, live DJs, artist-led craft workshops, and fun for the whole family. The event is free with museum admission ($20 for the general public, $16 for seniors, $14 for students, and free for members and those 12 and Under), but make sure to register in advance!
For The Movie Buff: Film fanatics can join New Plaza Cinema (35 West 67th Street between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West) on Wednesday, October 30, for a new, hair-raising online lecture - Movie Monsters: Exploring the Art Behind Classic Creature Features. General admission is $12 with a $2.64 fee. Fright film enthusiasts can also enjoy a virtual guided discussion of King Kong (1933) on October 31, led by special guest Steven C. Smith, a four-time Emmy-nominated documentarian and author who specializes in Hollywood history. While the cost to attend is free, donations are encouraged.
For the Historian: Join Landmark West on Zoom from 6:00pm - 7:00pm on October 30 for Ghostly Upper West Side, an exploration of ghosts and ghostly stories from our neighborhood's rich history. Tickets are $5 with a $1 fee for non-members, but free for members.
For The Animal Lover: Does your pup want to paw-ticipate in the Halloween fun? You’re in luck! This Saturday, October 27, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm, Camp Canine is hosting its 3rd Annual Doggy Trick-or-Treat Night on the Upper West Side. Visit participating businesses, including Arc’teryx (158 Columbus Avenue at West 67th Street), Tempur-Pedic (2030 Broadway at West 70th Street), Just Food For Dogs (2025 Broadway at West 70th Street), and Shakespeare & Co. (2020 Broadway between West 69th and West 70th Street) that will be handing out treats for your pets.
For The Candy Fiend: Stop by Ladurée (10 Columbus Circle) to pick up an eerie-sistible limited-edition Halloween Gift Box available now - October 31st. Indulge in the Fall Foliage chocolate collection at La Maison du Chocolate (10 Columbus Circle). Customize your own spooky candy mix at It’s Sugar (1870 Broadway between 61st and 62nd Street), or stop by Morton Williams (2015 Broadway between 69th and 70th Street), Whole Foods Market (10 Columbus Circle), or Target (1863 Broadway between 61st and 62nd Street) to pick up bulk candy for your trick-or-treaters (or for yourself - we don’t judge!).
