Don't Miss Magical Lights at Dante Park this Season
Dec 14, 2023Come to Dante Park this holiday season to experience Lincoln Square's Magical Lights - a sensory light show featuring audio reactive lighting by Limbic Media. The interactive installation hangs from the spectacular branches of the eight giant London Plane trees surrounding Dante Park and changes color in response to sound. The dazzling display is so exceptional that Time Out included it on its "Where to see stunning holiday lights in NYC" list, and Secret NYC listed it as one of the "25 Best Holiday Light Displays Illuminating NYC This Year." This is one display that you don't want to miss!
The best time to witness the magic for yourself is after sunset. Join us for SING-ALONGs with The Fabulous Fezziwigs (December 14) and VocalSouL (December 19 & 20) from 5:00pm - 6:00pm and see the lights twinkle and change color to the rhythm of the beat. If you can't make it, stop by any time this season to watch the lights dance and change color to clapping, singing, and even the NYC soundscape.
We kicked off Lincoln Square's Magical Lights on December 5. The lighting event was complete with live music and family fun. It was a huge success, thanks to music from Chia's Dance Party and Kaufman Music Center's Special Music School Chorus; circus acts from The Department of Spectacle; Mexican hot chocolate and churros from Rosa Mexicano; a countdown by WABC-TV's Nina Pineda and Lee Goldberg; and brief remarks from Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine. A special thanks to the acting Manhattan Borough Commissioner of NYC Parks Paul D'Amore and his team, for all their support. Visit our Flickr to see photos from the stunning event.
Don't miss another community building event - the WinteRamble - an illuminated neighborhood procession led by Processional Arts Workshop's Frost Giants on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Please RSVP to participate or attend by filling out this form.
