Four Doors Open in Lincoln Square

If you have any doubt that Lincoln Square is flourishing, think again! So far this February, four new businesses have opened in our neighborhood, with one more scheduled to open before the end of the month.

elfishimage On Thursday, February 2, El Fish Marisqueria, the latest venture from Chef Julian Medina and Restauranteur Louis Skibar, opened at 155 Amsterdam Avenue at West 67th Street. Marisqueria is Spanish for seafood restaurant, which is exactly what the new restaurant serves, but with a Mexican-inspired flair. Chef Medina took a culinary odyssey to Mexico’s fishing capital, Ensenada, for inspiration for the expansive menu of this unique concept. Some items on the menu include Tostada Ensenada, Clam Chowder Tortilla Soup, Fideo Seco, and Corn Esquite. You can click here to view the full menu. The 60-seat dining area embodies the oceanic theme of the restaurant and also features a Raw Bar and Cocktail Bar. Currently, the restaurant is open for dinner Sunday through Wednesday from 4:00pm to 10:00pm and Thursday through Saturday from 4:00pm to 11:00pm, with plans to introduce weekend brunch in the coming weeks. You can make your dinner reservation by clicking here. For more information, click here to visit the website or call 212-874-2000.

Sephora has opened its doors at 1865 Broadway at 61st Street. After a soft opening on Monday, February 6, and a grand opening on February 10, you can shop to your heart's content for makeup, skincare, haircare, and fragrances. Of course, what makes Sephora truly special are the passionate Beauty Advisors who work there and the numerous services they offer. You can book a session for personal shopping, waxing, perk treatments for both your face and lips, lash application, beauty lessons, and makeup application. You don’t have to be a celebrity to get your makeup done! You can book all of these services on the Sephora website by clicking here. The store is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00am to 8:00pm, Friday through Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am to 7:00pm. If you have any questions, give the store a call at (212) 823-9383.

The restaurant is in its preview week now and is open for dinner Monday through Sunday from 5:00pm to 11:00pm. Brunch and lunch will be available soon. If you were one of the people wondering what's opening at 2030 Broadway at West 70th St, the wait is over. The new food concept from Marc Lore called Wonder has 10 iconic restaurants, all in one place. You can now get Brooklyn pizza from Di Fara, Indian street food from Chai Pani, Texas barbeque from Tejas, and more, all in one building in Lincoln Square. Most notably, the former owner of Landmarc, Marc Murphy, has crafted a menu of inventive spins on comforting American favorites for The Mainstay. Wonder had a soft opening on Wednesday, February 15, and will have a grand opening on Thursday, February 16. You can order your food from the Wonder app for delivery, but only from 66th - 75th Street, or for pickup for those outside the delivery radius. You can also choose to dine in. For the time being, you cannot order meals from different restaurants in one single order; you have to order each separately. However, that is supposed to change in the coming weeks. According to the website, which you can visit here, the hours are from 11:00am to 10:00pm, Monday through Sunday.

cafeparadiso Last but not least is the newly announced Cafe Paradiso, which has a future opening of February 21 at 144 West 65th Street, where Indie Food & Wine just closed. The new cafe will offer a unique blend of Italian and American cuisines, including pastries and espresso for breakfast, salads and sandwiches for lunch, and pizzas and pasta for dinner. You can view the menu here. Initially, the restaurant will operate from 8:00am to 5:00pm and eventually expand the hours to 8:00am to 8:00pm. This is the newest restaurant by The Fireman Hospitality Group, which owns five other eateries in NYC, including Lincoln Square's very own Cafe Fiorello.
