Help Bring the WinteRamble to Life on Dec 21

Ring in the winter solstice with the Lincoln Square BID at the second annual WinteRamble - an illuminated community procession of Frost Giant puppets and icicle lanterns led by Processional Arts Workshop. On Thursday, December 21, the procession will step off at 5:00pm in front of 1886 Broadway (between 62nd St and 63rd St), then meander through the Lincoln Square neighborhood until 6:00pm to the ethereal sounds of J.C. King’s Kalimbascope, a rolling ensemble of acoustically-enhanced thumb pianos.

To make your own mini-lantern, join a workshop between 3:00pm and 5:00pm (location to be announced). Volunteers can carry their mini-lanterns during the procession, join the Kalimbascope, carry icicle lanterns, or simply walk along with the group. Everyone is welcome to take part in this family-friendly event by watching or following along as we celebrate winter’s arrival together. Please RSVP to participate or attend by filling out this form.

The WinteRamble is part of Lincoln Square’s Magical Lights, which also features an interactive lighting installation hanging from the spectacular branches of the eight giant London Plane trees surrounding Dante Park. The dazzling lights will remain on throughout the holiday season, and you can visit Dante Park to see them twinkle to the rhythm of a beat.
