Lincoln Plaza Cinemas

Lincoln Plaza Cinemas

We share the community's sadness about the closing of our local neighborhood gem of a movie theater, Lincoln Plaza Cinemas, which has been so important to the cultural life of our district. It is our understanding that the property owner, Milstein Properties, must make structural repairs and waterproof the plaza surrounding the building. Apparently these repairs cannot be completed while the space is in use. Milstein Properties has stated that they expect to reopen the space as an art-house cinema once the work is completed.

It is hard to watch a favorite spot in the district close its doors, and the movie experience will be missed. However, we hope that you will continue to patronize all the other businesses in our district, including the wonderful Film Society of Lincoln Center (Walter Reade Theater and Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center) and the AMC Loews Lincoln Square, which continue to screen excellent films.
