Lincoln Square’s Newest Businesses

New retail spots are sprouting up throughout Lincoln Square! This past month, the BID welcomed two new stores to the neighborhood. Learn more below about the new stores and then stop by in person.

Alo (located on the first floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle) is a yoga clothing brand that aims to spread mindful movement, inspire wellness, and create community. Started in Los Angeles in 2007, Alo has since become one of the most popular athletic brands in the industry. From comfortable and fashionable leggings to trendy winter coats, they sell a range of apparel and yoga essentials. Their Gift Guide is already available online, with everything from plush socks to sweatpants, but visiting in person will let you feel the quality of their incredibly soft material for yourself.

Tempur-Pedic (2030 Broadway at the corner of West 70th Street) offers bed bases, pillows, bedding, travel products, and mattress toppers, in addition to their well-known mattresses. You can test most Tempur-Pedic mattress models in the store, and unlike a typical showroom, a staff member is there to guide you, providing a one-on-one experience with the goal of making sure you find the right bed for you. Even more unique is the store’s immersive room, which is the first of its kind. Lay down in a temperature-controlled room to experience Tempur-Pedic’s Ergo Smart Base, which raises gently when it detects snoring, vibrates to relieve stress, and more.

In the coming weeks and months, the BID also expects to see several other new businesses opening, including: an Italian restaurant, Canto (2014 Broadway between West 68th and West 69th Streets); Café Aroma (1873 Broadway between West 61st and West 62nd Streets); a smoke shop (1875 Broadway between West 61st and West 62nd Streets); Amorino Gelato (44 West 63rd Street between Columbus Avenue and Broadway); and Morton Williams Supermarkets (2001 Broadway between West 68th and West 69th Streets).
