Reporting Conditions to 311
Oct 4, 2017NYC311, a government and information service, provides the public with quick, easy access to all New York City government services and information. You can contact 311 to check, for instance, if public schools are closed, to make a noise complaint, or to report conditions such as a broken street light, and more. To complement the 311 Call Center, the City has created an NYC311 App component.
The NYC311 App, available for free for iPhone, iPad, and Android operating systems, allows you to receive notifications about conditions such as road closures and submit service requests more easily and swiftly. With the NYC311 App, you no longer need to wait on the phone to reach a representative to make a report. It is as easy as filling out a form and pressing submit to notify the City of quality of life conditions such as potholes, illegal dumping, and heat or hot water issues, or, as our Public Safety Officers report daily, homeless conditions.
Notifying 311 of homeless conditions is the best way to insure services are offered to individuals on the streets. We urge you to use this tool, especially since the App component makes reporting so easy, if you see someone in need. The Lincoln Square BID keeps in regular contact and works closely with the City and various nonprofit organizations who handle homeless outreach in Lincoln Square, such as Goddard Riverside and the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS).
Please consider supporting these outreach organizations who would really benefit from your donations as they work daily to help individuals on the streets here in Lincoln Square. Please also consider downloading the NYC311 App to more easily track City information, contact appropriate agencies when services are needed, and to notify outreach of homeless individuals in need.
