Spring Refresh in Lincoln Square
Apr 19, 2023Spring is often a time of renewal and rejuvenation. With flowers in full bloom and oh-so-pleasant weather, there is no better place to be than outside. Luckily, Lincoln Square has two parks that are perfect for enjoying these pleasures during this new season.
Our parks are both very popular destinations for visitors and residents of Lincoln Square. We have just added new tables and chairs, as well as umbrellas for the public to enjoy, and our landscapers, A. Bulfamante Landscaping, recently installed our new seasonal displays, full of shrubs and colorful flowers, in the parks, as well as in the Broadway Malls from 60th - 70th Street. Located at Broadway and 63rd Street is Dante Park, a small but charming park named after the Italian poet Dante Alighieri, which features a bronze statue of him. Our other park is Richard Tucker Park, located on Broadway and Columbus Avenue between 65th and 66th Street, which is named after the famous opera tenor and features a bronze portrait bust of him. Both parks are great spots for a quick lunch break or a peaceful respite from the busy city, but remember, tables are first come first serve.
Luckily, there are many eateries to grab food from near both parks. You might want to check out Rosetta Bakery (1928 Broadway), Épicerie Boulud (1900 Broadway), Breads Bakery (1890 Broadway), Le Botaniste (156 Columbus Avenue), Maman (152 Columbus), Le Pain Quotidien (60 West 65th Street), to name a few. A number of our restaurants also have outdoor seating available if the parks are too crowded during lunch. Check out our neighborhood guide for a thorough list of places to eat in Lincoln Square.
As part of our sanitation & area maintenance program, we regularly pressure wash our public spaces, as well as our equipment, including our Citibins and Big Belly Solar Trash Cans. The warmer weather also allows us to paint public street furniture and fixtures throughout the district. This year, City1 Maintenance is painting our street light poles, traffic control boxes, fire hydrants, and Broadway Mall barriers. It’s not just homes that require spring cleaning. Of course, our Clean Team and Goddard Green Keepers Crew also work daily, with the help of our property owners, to keep our neighborhood spotless.
We hope you enjoy everything spring has to offer in Lincoln Square!
