Upper West Spa Expands and H Mart Opens on Amsterdam Ave

From onigiri to facials, there is much to enjoy at the northern end of Lincoln Square. Earlier this spring, EA Dumpling (201 Amsterdam Ave at W 69th Street) and Yumiko (169 Amsterdam Ave between W 67th and W 68th Street) both opened. Now, we are excited to announce the arrival of H Mart (210 Amsterdam Ave at W 70th Street), just outside our district, and the expansion of Upper West Spa (189A Amsterdam Ave between W 68th and W 69th Street).

Upper West Spa originally opened in 2018 and moved earlier this month into its new location, two storefronts down from its former location. Founded by master aesthetician and certified laser technician Joanna Kaminska, the spa provides the neighborhood with a full-service day and laser spa, with offerings that include a range of facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, and hair removal services. Over the years, the spa has also grown a committed following: on Google, they have over 100 reviews and a 4.9 rating. Stop in for yourself the next time you’re looking to treat yourself!

Just up the street, H Mart is open and offers an array of delicious food options. The popular Korean supermarket's produce section has a wider selection of mushrooms and herbs than most bodegas or supermarkets. They also have harder-to-find produce like dragon fruit, lemongrass, turmeric, and lychee. H Mart also sells everything from sushi and onigiri to frozen dumplings, chips, rice noodles, tea, and more. Looking for a fun pastry? Choose from a wide assortment of packaged baked goods, like red bean buns, hot dog croquettes, and honey castellas (a type of Japanese sponge cake). The store, though relatively small, even has an aisle with everyday home essentials, from garbage bags and ice cube trays to ceramic bowls and face masks.
