AAA Everyday

Most people have heard of the American Automobile Association, but what does anyone really know about AAA? In scouring their services and speaking with staff, the Lincoln Square BID learned more about the breadth of services available through the association—and not just for drivers. Located at 1881 Broadway (the entrance is squarely at the corner of Broadway and W 62nd), AAA has a surprisingly wide range of services.

For drivers, AAA’s services are well-known. Their regular membership programs (which start at $5.17 per month for the basic plan) provide roadside assistance, discounts on hotels, cruises and European vacations, lower rates on auto and home insurance, and more. Their memberships even cover bicycles. Just like a car, members can call AAA if their bike breaks down while they’re out for a ride.

However, in a city where many do not own cars, AAA has services to offer even the car-less New Yorkers. For $29 a year (or $2.50 a month), the AAA Everyday Membership provides those who do not need roadside assistance with a range of perks. These include a free set of passport photos, discounts on cybersecurity software, a $100 travel credit, discounts on Hertz car rentals and movie tickets, and much more.

Our local branch also provides a number of DMV services, including license and non-driver ID card renewals and some learner’s permit exams. The AAA location in the BID is also one of the select branches to offer TSA PreCheck enrollment. To do so, simply apply online and schedule your appointment.
