Kids ages 8-12 can explore their creativity through fun, hands-on projects at various Apple Store locations around the City. These free classes, which each take place over three days worth of sessions, will introduce kids to coding, art, design, and video production. Many classes are already full, with wait-list options available, but at our local Apple Store, Upper West Side location (1981 Broadway) there is still room to sign up for the class "Directing Your Own Movie with Clips and iMovie". The three classes take place on Tuesday, July 30, Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2 from 10:30am - 12:00pm. In this three-day session, students will discover how to create fun video footage using an iPad, learning the fundamentals of moviemaking. On the final day, they'll apply their skills to make a captivating movie trailer using iMovie, and they'll celebrate their creations. Devices will be provided. Click here to sign up for this class and click here to learn more about other Apple Camp opportunities

Also, if you're looking for more free activities for your school age child around the neighborhood, check out events at the Riverside Library at 127 Amsterdam Avenue (65th Street). Coming up in the same week, there is a movie geared towards children ages 5-12 for Movie Monday on July 29 at 3:00pm and on Tuesday, July 30 there is a Lego Club event also at 3:00pm where children can play together with legos in the library. Click here to see all library events
