April Plastic Cleanse

In celebration of Earth Month, you can help the  Greenmarket go plastic-free this April by bringing your own bags while shopping in the markets. As an alternative to plastic, canvas tote bags and reusable produce bags will be for sale at most Greenmarkets and are available online . 

In Lincoln Square, at the Richard Tucker Park Greenmarket, both reusable canvas totes and washable, reusable mesh produce bags will be for sale at the market for the remainder of the month.  They can be purchased separately or as part of a plastic cleanse starter kit that includes one canvas tote and four mesh bags for $15. These plastic alternatives will be available from the market manager at the site's information tent.
