Come late August most students will be headed back to school for the start of this coming school year. Everyone from Pre-K to College alike will need to stock up on classroom supplies, electronics, and back to school fashion to make a fresh statement for the fall semester.
 
For packages of pens, pencils, standard folders and notebooks, and project supplies like glue sticks and scissors, Duane Reade, at 1889 Broadway at 63rd Street or 2025 Broadway at 69th Street, can help prepare students with the basic materials needed to take notes, tests, and organize papers. Plus, you can pick up snacks to enjoy in between class or after!
 
On the third floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle, newly opened Amazon Books sells Kindles, headphones, and STEM toys for students. Plus, budget friendly planners, pens and some art supplies, backpacks, water bottles, and, of course, many different fiction, non-fiction, instructional, and children's books great for helping boost reading skills or just to enjoy as students re-acclimate to more reading. You can also order books from the online component to pick up in the store.

In The Shops on the second floor, Moleskine has special limited edition collections of colorful and fun notebook designs, like bold Keith Haring artwork or Peter Pan inspired typography just to name two. If you're interested in creative, durable notebooks, the store carries a wide variety of them with covers that incorporate Disney and pop culture inspired art and design. Additionally, Moleskine has a selection of backpacks, pencil cases, writing supplies, and even tablet covers. There are also calendars and personal planners to help you keep things scheduled in style. On the ground floor, Coach has trendy leather backpacks for both men and women that will carry your books and electronics with enviable style. And Tumi is a good spot for modern backpacks. The store's back to school backpack selection features many styles, such as solid leather, red floral pattern, or blue camo fabric. 
 
At Best Buy, located at 1880 Broadway at 62nd Street, college students can get exclusive deals and savings in-store (and online) by creating a free account and redeeming email coupons for items such as smart tvs, small dorm appliances, and laptops. Best Buy is likewise offering seasonal discounts for the start of the school year which can help you save money on select laptops and more. Also, the Apple Store, Upper West Side, at 1981 Broadway at 67th Street, is offering a deal to students with a valid student ID. Back to school shoppers can get a free pair of wireless Beats headphones when you buy an eligible Mac, iPad, or iPhone for college. And, you can save on a Mac or iPad with Apple education pricing, too. 
 
Bed Bath and Beyond, at 1932 Broadway at 64th Street, has everything you could need to put together the perfect home away from home. From dorm essentials like bedding, bathroom accessories, and laundry needs to extension cables, power strips, and lots of decor to personalize your space, students who shop Bed Bath and Beyond will have a comfortable and personal dorm space. Plus, the store's website has a check-list for first time students to make sure you don't forget anything and you can even make an appointment to shop in-store with college expert associates for free. 
 
Speaking of college, our three local University bookstores at The Juilliard School , Fordham University, and the New York Institute of Technology all have books, supplies, and comfortable apparel for students. All are open to the public, so you need not be a student of the school to shop. 
 
Inside of Century 21, further north at 1972 Broadway at 66th Street, you can find fashion-forward backpacks at a price for every budget. Choose from styles like velvet quilt, rose embroidered, and other colorful and leather backpacks. Continuing up Broadway,  Innovation Luggageat 2001 Broadway at 68th Street, sells a number of utilitarian backpacks from a number of high-end brands that contain many secure compartments great for organizing your items and safeguarding electronics from damage. Some backpacks even have wheels for additional transport options. 
 
For school uniforms, both Gap Kids, at 1988 Broadway at 67th Street, and Brooks Brothers, at 1934 Broadway at 65th Street, offer a variety of quality shirts, pants, dresses, and more. At Gap Kids, shop khaki pants and gray slacks in a number of different fits as well as crisp polo shirts for boys.  In the girl's section, choose from polo dresses, pinafore dresses, cable knit cardigans and other uniform staples like buttons ups and short sleeved polos. The store also has some dinosaur, outer space, and princess pattern backpacks for added flare. Inside of Brooks Brothers, you'll find uniform appropriate cable knit crew cut sweaters, great for fall layering, in addition to blazers, ties, and polos for boys. Both stores have non-uniform children's clothing too, so you can purchase adorable floral and gingham pattern dresses at Brooks Brothers or denim overalls, tulle skirts, Letterman jackets, and graphic tees at Gap Kids.
