Book Talks at Shakespeare & Co.

Book Talks at Shakespeare & Co.

It's exciting to have a book store back in Lincoln Square, especially one that is so focused on creating a great community space. Not only does Shakespeare & Co. offer a large selection of literature as well as a cafe with seating and free wii-fi, but the store also hosts almost weekly Book Talk events. These free events at the 2020 Broadway location (at 69th Street) bring in an author, sometimes accompanied by an artist or another writer, to discuss their lives, their work, and answer questions from the audience. Occasionally, the author will read from their novel or work before the discussion portion of the talk.

Coming up this month, on Thursday, February 21 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm, join author Fiona Davis as she discusses her latest historical fiction mystery novel The Masterpiece, a story of two different women in two different eras, the 1920s and the 1970s, revolving around Grand Central Station. Then, on Tuesday, February 26 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm, join author Nina Burleigh for an in-depth look into Donald Trump's attitudes toward women through her book Golden Handcuffs: The Secret History of Trump's Women.

Book Talks are an excellent way to interact with accomplished authors, of both fiction and non-fiction works, in a more intimate setting. Check out Shakespeare & Co.'s event calendar for upcoming events. The shop also hosts Book Talks geared towards children.

Additionally, check out the Lincoln Square BID's event calendar for more interesting events around the neighborhood.
