Celebrate Women's Activism

Help build NYC’s first permanent catalog listing women activists from across the globe! If you know of a woman who has made an impact through their activism—whether famous or unknown, whether alive now or from a past time—tell her story through a submission to WomensActivism.NYC. This initiative is a five-year celebration of women’s activism connected to the Women’s Suffrage Centennial. The NYC Department of Records and Information Services created WomensActivism.NYC to honor the anniversary of women winning the right to vote in New York State in 1917 and in the United States in 1920. The goal is to collect 20,000 stories by the 100th anniversary in 2020, and they are still searching for more terrific figures to add to the catalog. The only requirements are: they must be woman-identified and they must have contributed to making change in some way. Click here to share a story today!
