Celebrating Easter & Passover 2019

As we observe two April holidays--Easter and Passover--let Lincoln Square's local cuisine and shopping scene help you celebrate in special ways. Passover begins FridayApril 19 and Easter Sunday is on April 21 this year, so make plans for an Easter Brunch, cater your Passover Seder, or pick up sweet treats for both celebrations.

To prepare your own holiday meals, visit  Whole Foods Market in The Shops at Columbus Circle to shop ingredients for a delicious Passover Seder or an Easter Sunday meal (you can order catering, too).  Gourmet Garage at 155 West 66th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, is another great grocery spot to shop for holiday spreads. Then, head to Williams-Sonoma in The Shops at Columbus Circle for Passover Seder plates or Easter dinnerware. Pottery Barn at 1965 Broadway (67th Street) and West Elm at 1870 Broadway (61st Street) also both sell Easter themed and spring inspired dinnerware for party hosting.

If you're more interested in catering a party than cooking for one, visit Épicerie Boulud at 1900 Broadway for some Easter desserts, plates, or main courses or set your Seder plate with Passover dishes. For sweets, contact Breads Bakery, 1890 Broadway between 62nd and 63rd Streets, to order flour-less cookies and cakes for Passover or Bouchon Bakery & Cafe in The Shops at Columbus Circle for Easter treats like hot cross buns.

You can also create a wonderful Easter basket by visiting several shops around the neighborhood. Stop into Papyrus on the third floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle and pick up a bunny eared basket for Easter egg hunting and some Easter themed gifts. You can also find baskets at Whole Foods Market or one of our local Duane Reade stores. For candies and sweets to fill your baskets, head to IT'SUGAR at 1870 Broadway north of 61st Street for gummies, chocolate bars, and more or Sugarfina on the ground floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle and grab a bunny basket bundle. Plus, La Maison du Chocolat, on the ground floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle, has a special Easter Collection with hand crafted chocolate figurines, decadent chocolate eggs, and gift boxes.

If you'd rather make a reservation at one of our great area restaurants, there are several spots hosting special menu additions for both Passover Seders and Easter brunches.

Boulud Sud at 20 West 64th Street is hosting a three-course Prix Fixe Passover Seder at $95 per person on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20. Also, on Easter Sunday, enjoy a three-course Prix Fixe brunch menu for $48 per person.

Bar Boulud at 1900 Broadway will offer some special menu additions for brunch and dinner on Easter Sunday and will also offer some special dishes in honor of Passover on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20.

Atlantic Grill at 49 West 64th Street is encouraging diners to make a reservation for Easter celebrations for a seafood-centric dinner--consider a meal here leading up to Easter during Lent.

On Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20, you can enjoy a four-course Prix Fixe dinner for Passover at Rosa Mexicano (61 Columbus Avenue). Seder plates will be available and the menu costs $55 per guest. Also, a special Easter brunch will be available on Easter Sunday from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

Of course, there are many other restaurants in the neighborhood at which you can plan a nice dinner or brunch for these holidays. Check out our Neighborhood Guide for a list of district eateries and plan a outing today.

Happy Passover and Happy Easter to everyone!
