Celebrating the High Holy Days 2021

Rosh Hashanah will begin next week with Yom Kippur following shortly after, and there are several ways to safely enjoy the High Holy Days in Lincoln Square.

Celebrate the holiday by ordering sweet and savory catering from Breads Bakery (1890 Broadway at West 63rd Street) for local pickup or delivery. Choose from a selection of Challah bread, like Apple Challah or a braided Centerpiece Challah; Cakes and Babka options, including Medovik or Breads' famous Chocolate Babka and more; plus some special honey options. The Smith (1900 Broadway at West 63rd Street) is also serving up catering for local delivery or pickup to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at home. The dinner for two option includes Brisket Style Short Rib, Matzah Ball Soup, Apple Pie, and more. The dinner is $85 and is available between Monday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 8. Chef Daniel Boulud is selling a specially curated Rosh Hashanah treat package online for local pickup that includes Honey Apple Cake, traditional Challah, and flourless Coconut Macaroons drizzled in Chocolate. This specialty package is available for order online and pickup at Épicerie Boulud’s Lincoln Center location (1900 Broadway at West 64th Street) from Monday, September 6 to Friday, September 10 between 8:00am – 4:00pm while supplies last. Click here to order today. Also in store, Épicerie Boulud is serving classic Honey Apple Cake in honor of Rosh Hashanah available to order by the slice or as a whole. 

Whole Foods Market (10 Columbus Circle) is serving up Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur catering options available for pickup at the Columbus Circle location. For Rosh Hashanah, catering is available between Saturday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 8, and includes meal options like a Red Wine-Braised Brisket Dinner which serves 8, Cider Glazed Chicken with Apple Amba which serves 4, Matzo Ball Soup, and more. For Yom Kippur, catering is available between Sunday, September 12 and Thursday, September 16, and includes options like a Break-the-Fast Feast for 8, Sweet Noodle Kugel for 8, a vegan Sacred Species Grain Salad for 4, and more. Click here to view the catering options. Orders should be placed online and must be made a minimum of 24 hours ahead of the desired pickup date for holiday dishes. You can also create your own meal at home with speciality groceries from Whole Foods Market or further north at Gourmet Garage (155 West 66th Street at Broadway). At Williams Sonoma (10 Columbus Circle) shop a number of home good items to help you celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Enjoy the store’s festive honey bear themed items for the holiday, such as a Honey Bear Dinnerware Collection, Honey Bear Mugs, and more.
