Champions of Change 2019 at Ethical Culture

New York Society for Ethical Culture, the founding institution behind the Ethical Culture movement and located nearby at 2 West 64th Street, will honor the latest recipients of the Dr. Phyllis Harrison-Ross Public Service Awards. Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Lee Gelernt, Deputy Director of the American Civil Liberties Union's (ACLU) Immigration Rights Project, will receive the awards at the Champions of Change Program on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 6:30pm - 9:30pm.
 
Additional speakers include Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), NYC City Council Majority Leader Laurie A. Cumbo, former assistant Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks and director/founder of the National Center for Disaster Preparedness, Dr. Irwin Redlener, M.D.
 
Champions of Change forums are hosted opposite years, featuring prominent leaders who advance the need for good governance and dedicated public service. Previous honorees included former Attorney General Eric Holder and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who received the awards in 2016. The first award was given to the Honorable David N. Dinkins, 106th Mayor of New York City.
