City Announces Open Storefronts Program

Mayor de Blasio has announced the launch of an Open Storefronts program that will bring shopping outdoors from Friday, October 30 through Thursday, December 31.

This new program will allow eligible storefront businesses to conduct activity on sidewalks, on roadways in the Open Streets: Restaurants program, or a combination of both. Stores will be able to display merchandise, complete transactions, and provide areas for customers to line up, as long as the business meets the eligibility criteria identified by the City. The City is allowing businesses to self-certify that they meet program requirements at nyc.gov/openstorefronts.

Businesses can visit nyc.gov/openstorefronts to review eligibility requirements and to complete a brief online application. Contact the NYC Small Business Services hotline at (888) SBS-4NYC with questions about this program and reopening guidelines.

Also, our office is in touch on a regular basis with many City agencies and we are happy to try to answer questions or connect businesses with the right contacts if we can. Reach out to us at info@lincolnsquarebid.org.
