It's almost time to enjoy a lively month of modern jazz music in Lincoln Square. For the past eight years, the Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival has brought vibrant music to Jazz at Lincoln Center.This year, from Friday, September 1 - Sunday, October 1,the Festival will return to help prepare audiences for the 2017-18 season and to showcase the inspiring talents of artists across generations with 22 unique programs over 31 days.
 
Throughout September, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola (located inside of Time Warner Center) will present musical performances by living jazz legends like Mary Stallings, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Harold Mabern and Paquito D'Rivera, as well as up-and-coming phenoms including Camille Thurman, Keyon Harrold, Brianna Thomas, Marquis Hill and Miki Yamanaka. The program includes individual shows in addition to performances that are part of the Festival's three series: Lessons From Our Masters, Big Band Mondays, and Flip Side Sessions. This year, the Festival opens with the Lessons From Our Masters series, which will highlight jazz veterans alongside multi-generational bands, beginning with a performance by master drummer Grassella Oliphant, who is known for playing with Sarah Vaughan and others.
