CDC Recommends Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine for Children 5 to 11

On Tuesday, November 2, the CDC recommended that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. This recommendation allows providers to begin vaccinating eligible children as soon as possible. Learn more here.

NYPD: Wanted for Assault

Do you know this man (pictured right)? On Monday, November 1 at 10:06pm in front of 1849 Broadway (at 61st Street) in Manhattan, the suspect approached a 51-year-old male, threatened to kill him, then struck him with an axe in the left arm.

November Rat Academy Events

Restrictions on the Distribution of Plastic Straws, Splash Sticks, and Stirrers

As of November 1, 2021, New York City food service establishments may no longer provide single-use plastic beverage straws, except upon request. Additionally, food service establishments may no longer provide single-use beverage splash sticks or stirrers made of plastic. Learn more here.
