Upper West Side Shred Day 11.14.21

Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, along with Senator José Serrano, is hosting a West Side Shred Day on Sunday, November 14 from 10:00am - 2:00pm outside her office at 230 West 72nd Street (between Broadway and West End Avenue). Virtual Veteran's Day Legal Clinic 11.15.21 - 11.19.21

Fordham Law School’s Feerick Center for Social Justice and its Veterans Rights Project (FCVRP) serves low-income veterans, military members, and their families who have unmet civil legal needs. FCVRP's Legal Clinic will include know-your-rights presentations (via Zoom) in the afternoons and evenings on Monday, November 15, Tuesday, November 16 and Wednesday, November 17, followed by one-on-one legal consultations (via phone or video) on Thursday, November 18 and Friday, November 19 during the day. Click here to fill out the clinic's interest form.

November Rat Academy Webinars

Join the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for their Rat Academy Virtual Trainings to learn about rat prevention methods. There are two sessions left in November: Tuesday, November 16 at 4:00pm and Tuesday, November 30 at 7:00pm.

Open Meeting Law: In-Person Meeting Requirement Suspended

On Thursday, September 2, Governor Hochul signed into law chapter 417 of the Laws of 2021, which suspends the in-person meeting requirement of the Open Meetings Law through Saturday, January 15, 2022. This permits public bodies to meet remotely as long as members of the public can view or listen and the meetings will be recorded and later transcribed. Learn more here.

Free Breast Cancer Screening Van 12.8.21

Join Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal on Wednesday, December 8 for free mammogram screenings in front of her district office at 230 West 72nd Street (between Broadway & West End Avenue) from 9:00am - 4:30pm. The event is open to people aged 40-79 who have not had a mammogram in the past year. All insurances are accepted, and co-pays and deductibles are waived. The event is free for uninsured people aged 40 and older. Appointments are required. To RSVP, call (212) 873-6368 or email rosenthall@nyassembly.gov.
