Build the Block Tonight!
Join the NYPD and community members for a 20th Precinct Build the Block Meeting tonight, Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00pm at 100 Riverside Boulevard between 64th and 65th Streets, with Sector A's Neighborhood Coordination Officers Ast and AliAt this meeting, you can learn about neighborhood crime and quality of life issues and talk directly to the NCOs.

Free Reusable Bags
As of March 1, when the Plastic Bag Ban went into effect, New Yorkers are encouraged to carry reusable bags for their shopping needs. Here are two ways to get free reusable bags: 

City Council Member Helen Rosenthal and Assembly Member Danny O'Donnell will be handing out FREE Reusable Bags on Saturday, March 7 at the 96th Street/Broadway Subway Station Plaza from 11:00am-3:00pm. 

You can choose a reusable bag as a free gift when you sign the Zero Waste Pledge with the NYC Department of Sanitation online. Click here to fill out the pledge with your information and select a free reusable bag which will be mailed to you. 

2020 United Airlines NYC Half
The 2020 United Airlines NYC Half, a New York Road Runners event, will take place on Sunday, March 15 beginning at 7:20am. Runners will begin their journey on Prospect Park's Center Drive before taking the race onto Brooklyn's streets, over the Manhattan Bridge, along the FDR Drive, through Times Square, and up to the finish in Central Park. Click here for a course map. There may be a number of street closures associated with this event. Check DOT's website closer to the event for more info or contact 311. 

E-WASTE Recycling Event
The Office of City Council Member Helen Rosenthal is sponsoring an electronic recycling event on Sunday, March 22 from 10:00am-4:00pm. Bring your electronic items, such as, TVs, computers, printers, phones, kitchen appliances, and other small appliances to be properly recycled. The truck will be in front of the JCC on Amsterdam Ave between 76th Street and 77th Street.
