CPC Public Hearing for the Permanent Open Restaurants Text Amendment 10.6.21

On Wednesday, October 6 at 10:00am, the City Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing for the Permanent Open Restaurants Text Amendment necessary to make the program permanently accessible citywide. This meeting will be held remotely via the NYC Engage Platform, and all members of the public may attend and testify.

Fresh Food for Seniors Program Returns

Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer's and Council Member Helen Rosenthal's Fresh Food for Seniors program provides seniors with low cost, mixed bags of fresh produce grown by local farmers -- all sourced by GrowNYC. Sign-up dates/times vary by site. The next registration at Goddard Riverside will take place on Wednesday, October 6 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shots Now Available

After the FDA's approval of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine booster shots, the CDC has announced that the booster shots are available for the following recipients who completed their initial series at least 6 months ago: 65 years and older, 18+ who have underlying medical conditions18+ who work in high-risk settings, and 18+ who live in high-risk settingsLearn more here. Please note that you can only receive the Pfizer-BioNTech booster shot if you initially received the Pfizer-BioNTeach COVID-19 vaccine.

The NYC Department of Small Business Services is now offering a new service, NYC Small Business Tech Corps Pilot, that helps small businesses reach customers online by connecting them to no-cost tech professionals who can create or upgrade their web presence. Click here to learn more and apply.

NYC Accelerator Relaunched

The NYC Accelerator has relaunched its program after a suspension in services due to COVID-19. The program provides free, personalized guidance to make cost-saving, energy-efficiency upgrades and reduce carbon emissions in New York City. NYC Accelerator is here to help you increase comfort and control costs in your building, while promoting occupant health and safety and fighting climate change. NYC Business Quick Start

NYC Business Quick Start is an interagency effort led by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to cut red tape and position NYC as the most business-friendly large city in which to open or reopen a business. Key features include: a concierge service where businesses have a sole point of contact to help navigate City regulations, a public dashboard, guaranteed 48-hour response to all small business inquiries, and cutting processing time by 50 percent. Click here for more information.
