COVID-19 Fraud Information
Apr 20, 2020The FBI is expecting a rise in scams and frauds related to the COVID-19 pandemic. To inform the public on scams that they may encounter during this period, they have released the following FBI Press Releases that describe different COVID-19 frauds:
- Advance Fee and BEC Schemes Related to Procurement of PPE and Other Supplies
- Scams Involving Cryptocurrency
- Health Care Fraud Schemes
If you are a victim of a scam or attempted fraud involving COVID-19, you can:
- Contact the National Center for Disaster Fraud hotline at 866-720-5721 or via email at disaster@leo.gov
- Report it to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov
- Contact your local FBI field office or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov
