Dalcroze for Adults 2022: Comprehensive Musical Training

Kaufman Music Center’s Dalcroze 2022 classes are starting up again this week at Lucy Moses School, offering unique comprehensive musical training to adults at all different levels of experience. Known as "music training through movement," Dalcroze uses the body to develop a strong musical foundation and natural feel for music. Click here to learn more about Dalcroze with Kaufman Music Center.

Classes will run between February and June, with the earliest session beginning Thursday, February 10, and include beginner level as well as advanced level sessions and sessions that lead towards Dalcroze certification at the Certificate and License levels. There is also a class designed just for seniors—for older adults, Dalcroze can improve balance and reduce the risk of falling.

Classes cover the different core subjects of Dalcroze: Eurhythmics, the study of rhythm; Solfége, ear training and musical literacy; and Improvisation, spontaneous musical expression at the piano. Click here to learn more and register for classes. Number of sessions and tuition cost vary for each subject/class. Classes can be taken both in-person or online. In-person classes take place in large, well-ventilated spaces. Proof of vaccination must be shown by all adults age 18 and older to enter the building, and masks are required. Contact Kaufman Music Center for more information: (212) 501-3360 or lucymosesschool@kaufmanmusiccenter.org.
