Free Fun for All Ages at the Riverside Library
With summertime's arrival, most students and even many adults find themselves with much more free time on their hands, looking for activities to add to their weekly schedule. Lucky for Lincoln Square residents, our local New York Public Library's Riverside Branch at 127 Amsterdam Ave, between 65th and 66th Streets, hosts a number of free weekly programs and events that will add community-centric fun to your summer calendar.

For parents with young children looking to meet others in the neighborhood or get out of the house for lunchtime, on Monday through Friday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, the upstairs community room of the library is open for lunchtime play. During this time, toys are available to play with while parents and their little ones eat lunch.

Every Friday in July, Bridge buffs can put on their "Bridge faces" and head to the library between 10:00am and 2:30pm to meet friends and play! Players of all ages are welcome.

Wednesdays at the library beginning July 11, young and old adults looking for a creative outlet can join others in the community for the library's Adult Coloring ClubRunning from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, this program allows adults to create wonderful pictures and offers a fun and unique way to unwind and express creativity. All materials will be provided for club members.

On most Thursdays this summer from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, library goers can share their passion for hands-on board gaming during the library's set time for Retro Board Gaming and Jigsaw Puzzles. Join others in the neighborhood and make new friends playing games like Monopoly, Checkers, Scrabble and more. Guests are encouraged to bring their own games and puzzles to share. This program is mostly geared towards teens between 13 and 18.

This is just a short list of all that's offered at the Riverside Branch. Each week and month, you can find more one-day programs and events for children, teens, and adults, like Chess Instruction or Midweek Movies. Plus, there are other monthly programs to enjoy. Click here to view a full calendar of events on the Library's website.
