Free Meals in NYC

When New York City shut down due to COVID-19, longtime friend of Lincoln Square, Liz Neumark, pivoted from catering galas and celebrations to delivering meals to elderly New Yorkers. Her catering company, Great Performances, started producing and delivering 40,000 weekly meals for the Department for the Aging (DFTA) to those who were housebound and no longer able to visit their local senior center for meals. Older adults can sign up to receive home-delivered meals from DFTA by calling 311 or through their local case-management agency.

And, the Meal Hub at MLK High School (122 Amsterdam Avenue) is still open Monday through Friday from 7:30am – 1:30pm. Any New Yorker can pick up three free, to-go meals at once. Click here to view the breakfast menu and here for the lunch menu for July. Find other Meal Hubs in the City here.
