Halloween Family Fun in Lincoln Square
Oct 19, 2021Halloween is a great opportunity for some memorable family fun and creative traditions. Check out these Halloween-inspired events and crafts that will bring seasonal excitement to Lincoln Square families in anticipation of the spooky holiday.
CAMP (10 Columbus Circle) is hosting a special “Make a Gourd-geous Pumpkin” event for families and campers who are 4+ years old on Friday, October 29 and Sunday, October 31 at 3:00pm both days. At this event, campers will get to decorate their own special pumpkin that will stay spooky and sparkly all season long without the mess of carving a real pumpkin. Tickets for crafting kids are $25 each and free for their accompanying adult. Click here to check it out and reserve your spot. CAMP Columbus Circle will also be hosting a Jazz SPOOKtacular concert with Mozart for Munchkins on Sunday, October 31 at 11:15am. This fun event will include music and bubbles and campers are encouraged to come in costume for extra fun. Click here for tickets which begin at $30. Paper Source (10 Columbus Circle) has Halloween-centric craft supplies that will bring spooky cheer to some fun at-home activities. Click here to view all of the craft supplies for the holiday, including a skeleton paper doll craft kit, a bat wreath kit, a haunted house décor kit, and much more. Plus, fun stamps and stickers to have fun with while you craft. For additional, virtual fun, purchase tickets to Paper Source’s online workshop for “Bewitched Handmade Cards” and concoct some magical cards to celebrate Halloween. The first workshop is Wednesday, October 20 from 7:30pm-8:30pm and the second is Wednesday, October 27 from 7:00pm-8:30pm. Workshop tickets are $30. Color Me Mine (177 Amsterdam Avenue at 68th Street) has three Halloween inspired painting events for the whole family coming up this week to get you into the Halloween spirit:
Spooktacular Candy Bowl Workshop on Friday, October 22 from 4:00pm-6:00pm: Painters will be instructed by a teacher on how to paint a special, spooky candy bowl for Halloween. Tickets start at $45 and include the cost of the ceramic bowl.
Pumpkin Painting Party on Saturday, October 23 with time slots from 11:00am-7:00pm: Paint a ceramic pumpkin to decorate your home in style! When you join Color Me Mine for this event you’ll also be given a free studio fee voucher for your next visit. Pottery pieces start at $20 with a $10 reservation fee for the event.
Ghouls Night Out on Thursday, October 28 with time slots from 4:00pm-8:00pm: This painting event features a discount on pottery pieces, prizes, and a Halloween movie. Bring your friends and family and dress up for the occasion—costumes are encouraged. The studio fee and reservation start at $12.
Target (1863 Broadway at 61st Street) can be a one stop shop for all of your Halloween needs, from costumes, to decorations, to crafts and more. Visit Target’s online Hallo-EEKend Collection of all things festive and spooky to celebrate. For crafty families, click here to view craft supplies to enjoy together for Halloween, including a witch door hanger, a paint your own wood pumpkin patch kit, a paper haunted house, and more. If your family has a big sweet tooth, order a Halloween baking kit to make some ghost cookies together or a Halloween moonlit cottage kit (pictured). Click here for Halloween treats. If you're looking to carve a pumpkin or use a real pumpkin to decorate, stop into Whole Foods Market (10 Columbus Circle), Gourmet Garage (155 West 66th Street at Broadway), or the Greenmarket at Richard Tucker Park on Thursdays and Saturdays to pick one up! Also, for some home decor to evoke Halloween, whether you're preparing for guests or want to spice up your personal space, check out West Elm (1870 Broadway at 61st Street) or Pottery Barn (1965 Broadway at 67th Street). Both stores offer hanging decorations, faux pumpkins, festive serving platters, and more!
