Headed Back to School?

It's already August, which means most students are headed back to school in a few weeks time. This time of year, every student between grade school and university is looking for the right place to shop for supplies and dorm needs, and luckily Lincoln Square is just that place!

Bed Bath and Beyond, at 1932 Broadway at 64th Street, is the perfect one-stop shop to put together the perfect home away from home for college students. Pick up bedding, toiletries, and more, plus some affordable dorm decor to customize your space. The store's website has a check-list for first time students to make sure you don't forget anything and you can even make an appointment to shop in-store with college expert associates for free.

At Best Buy, located at 1880 Broadway at 62nd Street, college students can get exclusive deals and savings in-store (and online) by creating a free account and redeeming email coupons. Associates can help you find the perfect laptop for your school needs and also set you up with other electronics to help your dorm room feel homey and fun. Also, at the  Apple Store, Upper West Side, at 1981 Broadway at 67th Street, back to school shoppers can get a free pair of wireless Beats headphones when you buy an eligible Mac, iPad, or iPhone for college. Students may also be eligible for discounted AppleCare and if you trade in an old Apple product you can get credit towards a new one.

For basic school supplies for all ages,
Duane Reade, at 1889 Broadway at 63rd Street or 2025 Broadway at 69th Street, sells packages of pens, pencils, standard folders and notebooks, and project supplies like glue sticks and scissors. Plus, you can pick up small snacks to enjoy in between class or after!

For more advanced school needs, visit the third floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle, where Amazon Books sells Kindles, headphones, and STEM toys for students. Or, choose from many different fiction, non-fiction, instructional, and children's books great for helping boost reading skills or just to enjoy as students re-acclimate to more reading. You can also order books from the online component to pick up in the store. On the second floor, Moleskine sells creative, durable notebooks, and is currently having a summer sale on some items.

Of course, once you buy your new laptop, notebook, and other supplies, you'll need a stylish way to carry them from home or your dorm to class. Head over to one of our many spots selling great tote bags, handy messenger bags, or stylish and trendy backpacks: Century 21 (1972 Broadway at 66th Street), Innovation Luggage (2001 Broadway at 68th Street), and CoachPop Bag, and Tumi (inside of The Shops at Columbus Circle).

Shop back to school goodies around Lincoln Square and you'll definitely be prepared for the fall semester. Also, our three local University bookstores at The Juilliard SchoolFordham University, and the New York Institute of Technology all have books, supplies, and comfortable apparel for students. All are open to the public, so you need not be a student of the school to shop.
