Healthy Habits for the New Year
Healthy habits are always a great New Year's resolution, but where can you begin to make those changes? We've put together a quick list of places to go around Lincoln Square to get you in the right mindset and on the right path to a healthier 2018.

Several workout spots around the neighborhood allow you to try out membership, including more niche places that offer specific classes. If you'd like to join a gym that is conveniently located near your home or work here in Lincoln Square, you can try Equinox Columbus Circle (10 Columbus Circle), Equinox Sports Club(160 Columbus Ave), New York Sports Club (61 West 62nd St.), or the West Side YMCA (5 West 63rd St.). Each offers special classes like zumba at New York Sports Club or cardio kickboxing at the YMCA, some of which you can try for free. If you're interested in more structured and specific workout routines, you can take classes at some of our special fitness studios like CorePower Yoga (2030 Broadway), YogaWorks (37 West 65th St.), Pure Barre (1841 Broadway), Court Pilates (1841 Broadway) or CrossFit SPOT (55 Amsterdam Ave). Both CorePower Yoga and YogaWorks offer great classes for multiple skill levels that blend body mindfulness with exercise. Pure Barre offers total body workouts that use the ballet barre for fitness technique while Court Pilates offers structured workouts meant to reduce physical pain and strengthen the body. And, CrossFit SPOT offers different high-intensity fitness programs designed to keep you active. CorePower Yoga and Pure Barre offer a free week trial, while YogaWorks has a special of 2 weeks for $25 as a trial.

Get excited to work out by scoring some great gear. Lululemon (1928 Broadway) sells stylish athletic and yoga apparel. Team members at this location also host a free community Run Club on Monday evenings, a complimentary Yoga Class Sunday mornings, and other community events. Also, New York Running Company (10 Columbus Circle) is a top spot to pick up some good workout gear. Specifically, this store offers a running assessment to match customers with the right type of sneaker.

Also, health and wellness isn't just about working out. Being mindful of your body in other ways is likewise useful to feeling your best. At Whole Body in Whole Foods Market at Columbus Circle, you can find great vitamins, organic beauty products, and oils and minerals. Saje Natural Wellness (158 Columbus Ave) sells essential oils and skincare products to connect people with 100% natural, plant-derived wellness products for their bodies and aromatherapy. And, at Aveda (10 Columbus Circle) you can also shop for holistic beauty products and aromatherapy products that are derived from the essence of flowers and plants. These stores offer products that promote comfort and relaxation, which pair perfectly with healthy New Year goals and could help encourage healthier habits.
