Join us for the Final Outdoor Performances of Lights Up on Lincoln Square

This week is jam-packed with our final outdoor performances of Lights Up on Lincoln Square at Dante Park (Broadway at West 64th Street).

On Tuesday, December 20, we will start with a newly added bonus concert by students from Kaufman Music Center's Special Music School High School at 3:45pm. Under the musical direction of Will Roslak, they will help spread the joy of the holidays with traditional caroling. Feel free to stop by and sing along! Next up on Tuesday is Yip's Dragon Style Chinese Lion Dance at 4:30pm. You won't want to miss watching these performers use their upper body strength, motor coordination, and stamina to maneuver the lions. Last but not least, Six13 will perform at 6:30pm after their previously scheduled performance was rained out. The groundbreaking, six-man a cappella vocal band brings an unprecedented style and energy to Jewish music, with nothing but the power of the human voice. It's the perfect way to celebrate the 3rd night of Hanukkah! Worried you'll get too hungry to stay for everything that's happening on Tuesday? Do not worry! Le Botaniste will sell drinks and soup from 4:00pm - 5:30pm to help satisfy your hunger during this busy performance day!

Wednesday, December 21, will feature a performance by Bronte Roman's Jazz & Pop Ensemble at 12:00pm. The native of Brooklyn, New York, has best been described as an exciting Vocalist and Performer of Contemporary Pop Hits and Jazz Standards. The fun does not stop there! At 3:00pm, we will have our mini lantern workshop, and at 5:00pm is the main event, the WinteRamble. Come ring in the winter solstice by joining the WinteRamble - an illuminated community procession of Frost Giant puppets and icicle lanterns led by Processional Arts Workshop. The procession steps off in front of 1886 Broadway (between 62nd St and 63rd St) and meanders through the Lincoln Square neighborhood until 6:00pm to the ethereal sounds of J.C. King’s Kalimbascope, a rolling ensemble of acoustically-enhanced thumb pianos. Everyone is welcome to take part in this family-friendly event or just watch and follow along as we celebrate winter’s arrival together. Sign up to participate here!

We finish our performances off with a festive songfest in a variety of formats, from time-honored classics to contemporary favorites by The Fabulous Fezziwigs, on Thursday, December 22, at 4:00pm. Performing in gorgeous handmade Victorian period attire, The Fabulous Fezziwigs reflect the spirit of Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig, hosts of an important and lovely party in the narrative of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. It is sure to be a great way to start the Christmas holiday weekend!

Make sure you visit our Holiday Tree and The Big Apple, Musical Tree, and Music Box by DIX au carré and urban art designer Felix Marzell at Dante Park. And don't forget to check out festive lighting featuring Tumbling Brights amid lighted trees in the Broadway Mall interiors from 60th Street to 70th Street. These will all be on display through January 2023!

Of course, while you're in the area, grab a bite to eat or do some last-minute holiday shopping. See our neighborhood guide for all that Lincoln Square has to offer.
