Kathleen Turner's Debut at The Met Opera
The two-time Golden Globe-winning and Academy Award-nominated actress Kathleen Turner will join the cast of Donizetti's comedy La Fille du Régiment at The Metropolitan Opera for this season's repertory revival and her Met debut. Turner will take on the non-singing role of the Duchess of Krakenthorp, joining the ranks of many distinguished actresses who have played this character in a Met Opera production, including Jane White (1983), Bea Arthur (1994), and Marian Seldes (2008). She will perform alongside leads South African soprano Pretty Yende and Mexican tenor Javier Camarena, who have starred together on the Met stage before, as well as Stephanie Blythe, Alessandro Corbelli, and Maurizio Muraro. 
 
Performances run Thursday, February 7 through Saturday, March 2. La Fille du Régiment will be transmitted live to movie theaters around the world on Saturday, March 2 as part of The Met: Live in HD series.
