Leading Up to Labor Day

Leading Up to Labor Day
The first weekend of September is often dubbed summer's last hurrah, bringing with it a three day weekend for many workers and students. Here in Lincoln Square, there are some shopping deals to take advantage of while you plan your last weekend getaway or some fun activities for the unofficial end of the season, some of which you can also plan right here in the neighborhood.

Around the area, take advantage of some end of summer sales at the following stores as we enjoy these last few weeks of warm air:

Wolford (first floor, 10 Columbus Circle), Best Buy (1880 Broadway), Brooks Brothers (1934 Broadway), and Banana Republic (1976 Broadway).

Plus, many of these stores and more are also beginning to stock fall wardrobe essentials as we anticipate cooler weather.

Around Labor Day weekend, Eileen Fisher on the second floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle is having a Labor Day sale through Monday, September 3 with an extra 25% off of sale items. Up at 1961 Broadway, Raymour & Flanigan is having a Labor Day sale, too, with clearance prices on an array of in-store items and other purchase perks.

If you'll be around the City during Labor Day weekend, Friday, August 31 to Monday, September 3, and you're looking for something to do, try visiting our two local parks, Richard Tucker Park and Dante Park, for an outdoor lunch with friends at our public seating areas. Or, enjoy dining al fresco at one of our great local restaurants for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Plus, if you're interested in independent cinema, check out A Paris Education at the Film Society of Lincoln Center or head up to Symphony Space at 2537 Broadway (95th Street) to enjoy independent film through New Plaza Cinema, an organization seeking to carry on the art film legacy of Lincoln Plaza Cinemas.

Shop, dine, or watch leading up to and during Labor Day weekend right here in Lincoln Square. It's the place to be to enjoy these final few weeks of summer weather.
