Lincoln Square: Dine & Shop for the Holidays

It can be hard to figure out fun gifts for the holidays, but there are a number of spots to shop at here in Lincoln Square that sell unique goods perfect for a special holiday present.

At the West Side YMCA (5 West 63rd Street), you can shop for handcrafted art and jewelry during the 40th Annual Holiday Crafts Fair on December 13, 14, and 15. For other one-of-a-kind artistic gifts, consider stopping into one of our local museum shops: the American Folk Art Museum (2 Lincoln Square at Columbus & 65th Street) and the Museum of Arts & Design (at Columbus Circle and Broadway). Both offer interesting pottery, jewelry, and other items, plus at Folk Art you can find gifts for kids, too. At The Emporium Ltd. (at 20 West 64th Street), you can shop special antique décor, fine art, or estate jewelry that you won't find anywhere else.

If your gift list includes electronics, stop into Apple Store, Upper West Side (1981 Broadway), Best Buy (1880 Broadway), or Bose and Devialet (The Shops at Columbus Circle) for a variety of tech-based presents, including tablets, advanced sound systems, gaming devices, and more. For other interesting present ideas for children or younger family members, check out Amazon Books inside of The Shops at Columbus Circle for school accessories, new best-sellers, and other items, or head to the new Shakespeare & Co. at 2020 Broadway and pick a gift from a great selection of books. 

Of course, there are many clothing and accessory stores in the neighborhood great for presents, or restaurants, spas, or salons at which you can purchase gift cards. On Christmas Eve, you can enjoy dinner at Bar Boulud at 1900 Broadway or Boulud Sud at 20 West 64th Street for a special meal. You can dine on a three-course dinner for $70 per person at Bar Boulud. And, at Boulud Sud, $115 per person will get you a Mediterranian inspired Prix Fixe meal from 5:00pm to 9:30pm. Contact each restaurant to make reservations today. 

 

At The Smith at 1900 Broadway, you can enjoy food from the regular menu all day on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24. Or, between 9:00am and 9:00pm on Christmas Day, you and your friends or family can dine in for a special brunch for $37 per person or a $65 per person three-course dinner. On both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, you can make reservations at Rosa Mexicano at 61 Columbus Avenue for some Mexican-spiced holiday specials between 12:00pm to 9:00pm. Check out the menu here and contact Rosa Mexicano for reservations. 

 

At Bluebird London on the third floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle, make reservations for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or the favorite British holiday, Boxing Day. Bluebird will be open during normal hours for breakfast on Christmas Eve and will be serving brunch from 11:00am to 3:30pm. There will also be a special dinner menu from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. On Christmas Day, enjoy a 3-course dinner menu from 12:00pm to 8:00pm at $100 per person ($50 for children up to 12). Snag special egg nog and ginger bread men at Bouchon, delicious loaves of babka at Breads, or tea time gift boxes and present shaped cake at Épicerie, to name just a few!
