Little Dancers at The School of American Ballet

Here in Lincoln Square on Lincoln Center's campus, the School of American Ballet (SAB) is offering an exciting new dance class option called Little Dancers, as part of SAB OPEN division debuting in January 2019. 

Geared toward 4-5 year olds, this program hosts weekly classes highlighting introductory ballet, creative movement and classical music appreciation, all of which will be offered over 14 weeks each fall and winter. No audition is required and no previous training is necessary! Students will participate in a 45-minute class each week in SAB's studios at the Lincoln Center headquarters, at 70 Lincoln Center Plaza. Led by members of SAB's faculty, classes will focus on teaching the fundamentals of dance, developing spatial awareness and introducing elementary ballet steps. Live music will accompany each class, allowing students to better understand the relationship between music and dance and helping them to develop a sense of musicality. The classes are co-ed and caregivers are invited to watch each class from the studio-adjacent lounge.
