Make Plans in Lincoln Square for Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend is almost here, which means summer is just around the corner. Commemorate the holiday weekend that unofficially kicks off the new season with sales, food, and activity around Lincoln Square.

The New York Philharmonic will livestream a free Memorial Day concert on Monday, May 31 at 7:00pm. The performance will be filmed in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and you can watch it on NYPhil+, the NY Phil's streaming service. Click here to read about the free virtual livestream.

Enjoy Some Time Outside

If it’s a sunny Memorial Day, take a walk to one of our two parks, Dante (64th Street and Broadway) and Richard Tucker (65th Street and Broadway), to grab a seat at one of our shaded park seating areas or at nearby benches. You can also take the opportunity to visit The GREEN installation on Lincoln Center’s iconic plaza, a public open-air installation of AstroTurf and seating areas. Click here to read about it. Additionally, at the southern end of our district you’ll encounter the Maine Monument at Merchant’s Gate to Central Park. The Maine Monument honors the 260 American sailors of the USS Maine, which sank in Havana, Cuba, in 1898. Read about it here.
