Meet Clean Team Supervisor Carlos Valladares

Every day, the Lincoln Square Clean Team works hard to ensure the district remains spotless. Contracted through Streetplus, the 11-member team sweeps area sidewalks, regularly cleans and disinfects street furniture, empties trash receptacles, and shovels snow in the winter. Our Clean Team members are dedicated and hardworking—two of our workers have been with us for 20+ years and three for 10+ years. As you probably pass members of our Clean Team as you travel through the neighborhood, we would like to introduce you to one of our longest-serving members, Clean Team Supervisor Carlos Valladares!

Carlos was assigned to the Lincoln Square Clean Team 10 years ago. Over the years, Carlos has worked his way up the ranks. He began as a regular cleaner before being promoted to a full-time supervisor in 2019. He loves to grab lunch at Alan's Marketplace when he's at work. And, Carlos' favorite part of working in Lincoln Square is helping to maintain Dante and Richard Tucker Parks for the public to enjoy. He's quite the expert of powerwashing and ensuring the trench drain at Dante does not get clogged!

Originally from Ecuador, Carlos currently resides in Queens with his wife, 15-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter. Give a friendly hello to Carlos next to you see him working in Lincoln Square!
