Met Opera's 2017 Summer HD Festival
Late summer brings your best opportunity to experience outstanding opera performances on the big screen for free. From Saturday, August 26 through Monday, September 4, The Metropolitan Opera will host the ninth annual Summer HD Festival on Lincoln Center Plaza. This year's festival will feature nine thrilling performances from the Met's Live in HD series of cinema transmissions, beginning with Michael Mayer's colorful, Las Vegas set production of Rigoletto which debuted at The Metropolitan Opera in 2013. Most of the screenings begin at 8:00pm and you can view the official schedule by clicking here

The Summer HD Festival will also feature a special pre-festival screening of Ingmar Bergman's classic 1975 film version of Mozart's The Magic Flute, a co-presentation with the Film Society of Lincoln Center. This screening will take place on Friday, August 25 at 8:00pm.

Each evening of the festival 3,000 seats will be available on the plaza on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be additional space for overflow crowds. No tickets are required for these free events.
