Music at MAD Series
Nov 30, 2020Just south of Columbus Circle, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) has started a weekend program for patrons who enjoy both art and live music.
Now through January 2, 2021, live music will activate the museum’s open galleries most Saturdays, in accordance with the Museum’s safe social-distancing practices. Performances from a roster of celebrated instrumentalists will complement the visitor experience for guests exploring the museum’s art on display. The seven-week music series features international soloists, Grammy nominees, and members of the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra performing brief solo or duo acoustic sets. The artists will perform works crossing a range of genres—from classical to contemporary—meant to enhance visitors’ experiences with the art.
Performances take place Saturdays between 2:00pm- 5:00pm (unless otherwise noted) on the hour and half-hour and are free with museum admission. All visitors and Members must reserve a timed ticket for entry. Seniors and students can access discounted tickets.
